Presidential Initiative for Wealth and Job Creation (Emyooga)

It is a presidential initiative centered on various enterprises/categories/Emyooga covering majority of Ugandans.

It promotes access to and usage of financial services

Specific Objectives  

  • Mobilization of internal resources-savings
  • Provision of seed capital

Components

  • Establishment of parish based Emyooga Association (7-30)
  • Establishment of constituency based SACCOs (5Ass)

Target Area of operation 
The SACCOs formed of parish associations operates at constituency level

Target population: Ugandans aged 18 and above except for youth where members should not exceed 35 years

Identification of Emyooga Members: identification of individual members subscribing to a given category/enterprise/mwooga is done at the parish level 

Constituency SACCO Membership

  • Only registered parish associations composed of members engaged in similar enterprise will be members of the constituency SACCO
  • No individual will be allowed to be member of the SACCO
  • Minimum number of associations per SACCO is 5 associations
