MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENTS

  1. Goal

Promote Good Governance as a basis to transform lives of Mpigi residents from a peasantry to a middle income society.

  1. Broad Objective

Strengthening the role of the district in guiding and facilitating development through increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the public sector in response to the needs of the citizens and the private sector in Mpigi.

        DISTRICT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS

  5. Hon. Nalumu Harriet - Secretary finance, planning and Administration

 

The Speaker of the District is Hon. Kaggwa Ronald Kibirige and the Deputy Speaker is Hon. Mwanje Alex Andrew 

Achievements by Statutory Bodies 

During the first quarter F/Y 2023/2024, the Department has had the following done.                                                                             

  • One District Council meeting had been conducted 
  • Conducted three District Executive Committee meetings 
  • 02 standing committees convened to consider work plans for departments and Annual Budget
  • 2 LGPAC meeting convened to discuss Internal Audit reports for 2nd, 3rd quarter 2020/2021.
  • Facilitate District Executive Committee members with fuel for monitoring of Government Programmes 
  • Payed the District councilors monthly gratuity and sitting allowances to date.
  • Two field visits by LGPAC for verification purposes to ensure value for money
  • Council approve Area Land Committee members and District Land Board members 

In the second quarter, we intend to have the following done;

  • Hold more two council meeting
  • Convene 2 standing committee meetings. 
  • Facilitate DEC with fuel for field monitoring and other official duties.
  • Convene LGPAC meetings to handle Audit reports 
  • Carry out one field visit for LGPAC members.
  • Produce and submit quarterly LGPAC reports to relevant offices. 
  • Hold DSC meeting for staff confirmation, promotion and regularization
