- To oversee education, training, and development of the young generation, turning them into responsible citizens and leaders.
Strategic Direction
- Build and maintain capacity in education services, improve service delivery per national education policies, and ensure equal access to quality education through infrastructure and service improvements.
Core Functions
- Supervise primary, secondary, and tertiary education institutions (1,692 primary schools, numerous secondary schools).
- Ensure compliance with national education standards.
- Improve educational infrastructure (e.g., classrooms, latrines).
- Promote sports development in schools.
- Monitor academic performance and national examination results. Key Services:
- Management of primary, secondary, and vocational education.
- Construction of VIP pit latrines for improved sanitation in schools.
- Support for national examinations (PLE, UCE, UACE), where Wakiso excels nationally.
- Teacher training and capacity building.
- Sports programs to foster talent development.
