Strategic Direction

• Build and maintain capacity in education services, improve service delivery per national education policies, and ensure equal access to quality education through infrastructure and service improvements.

Core Functions

• Supervise primary, secondary, and tertiary education institutions (1,692 primary schools, numerous secondary schools).
• Ensure compliance with national education standards.
• Improve educational infrastructure (e.g., classrooms, latrines).
• Promote sports development in schools.
• Monitor academic performance and national examination results. Key Services:
• Management of primary, secondary, and vocational education.
• Construction of VIP pit latrines for improved sanitation in schools.
• Support for national examinations (PLE, UCE, UACE), where Wakiso excels nationally.
• Teacher training and capacity building.
• Sports programs to foster talent development.
